Williamsburg Bridge, NYC, Andy Whysall 2005
Andy Whysall is an independent photographer based in the North of England. He worked as a broadcast journalist for more than 30 years before formalising his lifelong interest in photography with a first class honours degree. In 2019 he was shortlisted for the British Council Venice Fellowship. He takes on commercial and portrait commissions alongside his own projects in contemporary fine art. These projects explore the nature of the photograph, both physically and philosophically, as a powerful, yet seemingly flimsy and, in the great scheme of things, ephemeral, container of time, emotion, memory, truth, untruth, life and death.
